More about Sharm El Sheikh
More about this tour
The heart of Sharm El Sheikh lies along the edge of the Sinai Peninsula, where rugged desert meets the vivid blues of the Red Sea. Unlike the winding alleys of ancient cities, Sharm's layout is shaped by its natural surroundings — a blend of sweeping coastal views, secluded bays, and expansive coral reefs. While the city is famed for its luxury resorts and vibrant marine life, echoes of deeper history lie nearby. Just a few hours inland, the sacred Mount Sinai rises from the desert, where tradition holds that Moses received the Ten Commandments. Nestled at its base is the ancient St. Catherine’s Monastery, a 6th-century stronghold of early Christianity that still houses rare icons, manuscripts, and a living community of monks.
Sharm's architecture may be modern, but its soul is timeless. The elegant domes of mosques, the outlines of Bedouin tents under starry skies, and the fusion of Egyptian, Islamic, and nomadic influences in its cultural fabric reflect a region where spirituality and nature have long coexisted. Whether diving among the coral gardens of Ras Mohammed, wandering the colorful stalls of the Old Market, or exploring nearby biblical landscapes, Sharm El Sheikh reveals its rich past through every wave and wind-swept stone.
